Bellmer GapCon GmbH
Gebr. Bellmer GmbH Maschinenfabrik of Niefern, Germany, has acquired roll and calender specialist GapCon from Irle-Deuz Group of Siegen, Germany. Since its foundation in 2006 by experienced engineers Wolfgang Wiertz and Wolfgang Mark, GapCon Group has been a supplier of high-quality products and services for the paper industry. Thanks to its professional expertise, entrepreneurial courage and commitment, the company has developed into a globally recognized technology business. GapCon enjoys a particularly strong reputation in the field of calenders, shoe presses and special rolls. From the outset, both Bellmer and GapCon have been enjoyed a close partnership in the development and supply of shoe presses. Martin Kollmar, president of Bellmer explained: “The complete product range of GapCon as well as related services and contact people will remain unchanged and will perfectly complement our existing portfolio.”

From now on, the company will operate under the name “Bellmer GapCon GmbH”. The company will retain its locations in Willich (Germany), St. Pölten (Austria) and Calcutta (India), while the Chinese operation in Shanghai will be merged with Bellmer’s local branch. The subsidiary GapCon Italy will remain part of Irle-Group and will specialize in the construction of tissue machines. GapCon’s product lines and geographical presence are ideal complements to Bellmer Group’s activities, and open up even better opportunities to offer flexible, optimal service to the paper industry.
This latest step will bring the Bellmer group’s staff to around 600 worldwide with sales of approximately 130 million EURO. Bellmer is a family-owned company, established in 1842 and managed by the 6th generation, namely the three brothers Philipp, Martin and Erich Kollmar. The Bellmer group includes two divisions: Bellmer Paper Technology, for the manufacture of paper machines for special applications; and Bellmer Separation Technology, which offers optimal solutions for solid/liquid separation.
