Successful drying section rebuild at Stora Enso Ingerois
The Stora Enso Ingerois mill in south eastern Finland is one the best known sources worldwide of high quality folding boxboard.
The 4.6 m-wide BM4 produces high-bulk grades for food, confectionary, pharmaceutical and non-food packaging with an annual capacity of 245,000 tons. Stora Enso’s TamBrite grade is the most recognized folding boxboard brand in Europe.
Bellmer Vaahto completed a successful major rebuild of the dryer section of BM4 in August 2014. 54 specialists worked in two shifts during the machine’s annual shut down and undertook some highly challenging operations such as changing the base plates and alignment of rolls, doctors and dryer cans. The machine was ready for start-up ahead of schedule.
The dryer section rebuild was the third big project involving Bellmer Vaahto on Ingerois’ BM4 since 2009.
A rebuild of the headbox dilution control and pope-reel took place in that year, and in 2012 Bellmer Vaahto undertook a significant press section rebuild including a shoe-press.
