“Modernization of production plants”

The Bellmer Paper Days – now a firmly established event in the paper making calendar – were according to the motto “modernization of production plants”. From September 19th to 20th, 170 guests from the paper industry met in Niefern for two exciting days with informative lectures and interesting discussions with colleagues.
The lecture program was designed by top-level speakers who reported directly from practice. For example, we were able to welcome Brian Smith of Mpact Felixton, South Africa, who reported on the recently completed BM 3 project for fluting and testliner, as well as his experiences with the new headbox TURBOVaahtoJetter.
Felix Rocha, Director of the Mexican Grupo Gondi, presented the interested audience the rebuild of PM 2 at EMG (Empaques Modernos de Guadalajara). Lino Di Piero Jun. from the Brazilian company MD Papeis emphasized the importance of the right calendering technology in the production of specialty papers.
The entire program included 16 lectures, which gave all listeners interesting and insightful insights into the different topics of paper production.
But the PaperDays were, as always, not just pure theory. In a joint drum workshop in the Bellmer works no. 3, including cardboard cajons, 170 participants raised the roof of the production hall! Good mood, delicious food, and colourful mix of entertainment crowned the two days. We are already looking forward to the next PaperDays in Niefern!
