TurboDrain Green for Bad Salzuflen
Surrounded by the woods and hills of the Teutoburg Forest, Bad Salzuflen is the ideal place for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation. Known for its curative salt springs, the city’s air and water makes you feel like you’re living by the sea.
Since 2008 Bellmer technology has given trouble-free operation at Bad Salzuflen’s sewage treatment plant: Two WinklePresses dewater the digested sludge to the complete satisfaction of the plant’s operators. The surplus activated sludge was thickened using screw thickeners until 2014. Then, in order to find a more efficient and cost-effective solution for the thickening process, the tender process began for a powerful and economical unit for contemporary surplus activated sludge thickening. An important criterion here was reduced polymer consumption. The Bellmer TurboDrain Green 08 C was awarded the contract because the Bellmer offer met the evaluation criteria optimally. The TurboDrain Green has been conceived from the perspective of conserving resources and guarantees lowest operating costs.

Torsten Kraatz, head of civil engineering for the city of Bad Salzuflen, says he is very satisfied with the results achieved, including trouble-free operation, as well as the savings in operating costs. He concludes: „The Bellmer dewatering plants installed fully meet our expectations. They are extremely stable and robust. The machines run without interruption except for short periods of downtime for necessary maintenance work.“
